Although the CC Skye Turner Python-Embossed Leather Hobo is nearly at the top of our price cap here on SCOAB, it's still a budget-friendly bag. It certainly doesn't look like it costs $625. The luxe python-embossed exterior (done in a gorgeous and subdued neutral hue) gives the appearance of costing thousands, not hundreds of dollars. The softly pleated design and gold-tone top handle accented shoulder strap only add to the understated elegance of bag. The interior is spacious and practical measuring 17.5 x 13.5 x 6 and offers several interior pockets for better organization. If you've been searching for an expensive-looking bag on a working gals budget, this is definitely the bag for you.

It's a Coach tote from the new Poppy Series. It's big, comfortable and colorful. Perfect for spring! I love large purses, and since I carry practically my whole entire life in my purses, this bag fits the bill perfectly! I have received so many compliments on my bag since I bought it! I am quite proud of myself for stepping outside the box and buying a colorful bag. I tend to stick to black or neutral colored handbags since I find they go with more of my outfits. I was surprised that this bag also goes with all of my outfits! I bought this purse at my local Dillard's for only $140 [On sale from $190].

Botkier Noa Tote

How can such a simple design look and feel so modern? Ask Monica Botkier and her design team. They've managed to crank out design after design, all with the same edgy yet classic vibe. The Noa Tote is my favorite from their current collection. While the comfortable top handles remind me of the Chloé Paraty, the front zippered pockets with tassel pulls are all Botkier. Botkier has the young, urban aesthetic down to an art form. In fact, they seem to improve season after season with not a dud of a design in sight. That, ladies, is a nearly impossible feat to achieve in the designer handbag world. Be sure that the 'Noa' is not only chic but also quite practical with a roomy 13 x 18 x 3 interior and plenty of storage options. Antiqued nickel hardware and a magnetic snap closure round out the bag's features. Neimanmarcus.com has the Botkier Noa Tote available for $575 in black and coral, but I prefer the coral for something with more color to it. I think we all have plenty of black bags, right?

I'm excited to bring a Marni bag to our budget-conscious readers. One of my absolute favorite designs from the fall season was Marni's Wave Bag. Although the tote is far more expensive than the clutch version (pictured), the clutch was still outside our price cut-off. Now Net-A-Porter has placed the Marni Wave Clutch on sale from the original $865 price tag to a more affordable $519. The white leather exterior and black contrast piping accentuate the clutch's geometric shape beautifully. The bag is over-sized and measures a generous 14 x 7 x 6. It has a gold-tone twistlock closure as well as dual zip top fasteners. Nothing is falling out of this clutch. The 'Wave' is an ideal day-to-evening bag for any time of the year. Brighten up a dark winter coat with this lovely clutch or save it for spring and use it to dress up a maxi dress and light cardigan.

You all know I couldn't possibly feature a Nancy Gonzalez handbag on Señora Cartera On A Budget. The exotic handbag designer is way off limits around these parts with the exception of the occasional accesory. Enter the Crocodile Cosmetic Bag done in a stunning matte red color. I suppose you could get inventive with this bag and use it as a clutch, but it measures only about 6 x 4 x 2. That would be a bit of a stretch even by my standards. As a cosmetic case, however, it's perfect. Dual zippers with bead pulls reveal a lovely suede-lined interior, and there is the amazing crocodile exterior to consider. For those of you that are unwilling or simply unable to get your hands on a Nancy Gonzalez bag, her croc cosmetic bag is the next best thing. I know $600 for a cosmetic bag is very expensive, but sometimes accessories are worth the splurge when you can use them inside any bag you own. Just imagine what your friends will say when you whip out this vibrant make-up case from your budget-friendly handbag. I'll bet they'll be pea-green with envy. I know I would be.

I came across this bag a few weeks back, and was instantly smitten. The Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Dunaway Tote is a very large bag, and certainly not for the faint of heart. However, if you love big bags as much as I do, this design is an appealing and budget-friendly option. The bronze metallic leather exterior is surprisingly supple, but that's not the best part of this design. The tote boasts three carrying options - a 6" attached top handle as well as two detachable straps, 12" and 20" respectively. In case you can't appreciate the bag's details from the photos, the bottom corners fold in giving it a modern, geometric-inspired look. I love this color. It's versatile enough to pull off year-round. If you're looking for a resort bag, but can't afford thousands, look no further than this roomy tote to accompany you on your travels.

I'll never tire of telling women how fantastic Cole Haan bags are. I know some of my designer handbag loving friends scoff at the idea of buying Cole Haan as if they were settling for sub-par quality construction and cheap materials. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have several Cole Haan bags. The leather on these bags is comparable to many designer labels, and I have yet to find a stitch out of place on any of them. But, heck, don't take my word for it. Celebrities, who have boundless resources and equally bottomless bank accounts, love Cole Haan bags too.

Twilight star Ashley Greene really has a thing for Cole Haan bags. She's been photographed carrying various CH designs. Most recently she stepped out to shop for sweets with a friend and the Cole Haan Prudence Hobo. The woven pattern on the Prudence Hobo is the main attraction. In contrast to other woven bags from labels like Bottega Veneta where the tightly woven pattern is comprised of thin leather strips, the 'Prudence' shines with thick strips that give the bag a more casual feel. The cute tassel pull adds some interest without appearing out of place. Bulga Blesk Stud Tote

I've been eying the Bulga Blesk Stud Tote for some time. I couldn't quite make up my mind if I liked it or not, but after careful consideration I'm giving it my stamp of approval, with one caveat. Let me talk about all the aspects of this bag that I like. The large size makes it an ideal carry-all while its grey/taupe color is a soothing alternative to all the black bags we're seeing for the fall. The large top handles that are attached to the body of the bag give the design added comfort and stability, but I've left the best part for last.

Don't even think I've forgotten to offer up my thoughts on the randomly placed studs. I love them to death. They're large, clunky, shiny and are the perfect accents to such a large bag. The fact that they decided to place just a few of them on one side gives the 'Blesk' an asymmetrical look that's refreshing to see. My only bone to pick with this design is the lack of a detachable shoulder strap. It's impossible to carry this bag over the shoulder due to the minuscule 4" handle drop. An additional carrying option for such a large tote should be a must, but I can't dismiss the 'Blesk' for that omission. Its overall design is just too fabulous to even consider doing that. You'll have to suffer a bit to carry this tote, but we're used to suffering for fashion's sake.

Lauren Merkin Ostrich Paige Duffel Bag

Lauren Merkin is best known for charming clutches rather than full-blown handbags, so I was a bit surprised when I was drawn to this bag and realized it was, in fact, a Lauren Merkin design. I happen to like the ostrich-embossed leather on the Paige Duffel Bag because it's the easiest of all the exotic skins to mimic. The grey exterior and navy trim on this duffel-style bag compliment each other beautifully. What a great work bag this would make. It has slit pockets on either side as well as interior zipper and patch pockets. Measures a roomy 14.5 x 9 x 6. What I like most about this design is the fact that the feminine yet modern quality of Lauren Merkin's handheld bags is quite evident here. I've seen a few other Lauren Merkin handbags, and I'm just as much a fan of them as I am of this bag.

Celebrity Style: Sarah Michelle Gellar and the Anya Hindmarch 'Shopping' Canvas Tote

Do I need an excuse to feature Sarah Michelle Gellar on Señora Cartera On A Budget again? She is one of the most adorable pregnant women I've ever seen (I looked like a beached whale and NEVER had that "glow" everyone always talks about). Baby bumps aside, SMG makes her second appearance on SCOAB because she's being a bit more frugal during her gestational phase. Sarah has been seen around L.A. sporting the Anya Hindmarch 'Shopping' Canvas Tote. I featured these canvas totes on Señora Cartera last month, and now I see one of my favorite actresses recognizing what practical and chic shopping bags these Anya Hindmarch designs really are.

My personal pick was the 'dry cleaning' theme, but this 'shopping' version is ideal for running errands. The shoulder straps are crafted from sturdy tan leather looped through gold-tone, square metal rings embossed with the AH logo. The green-colored print features everything from a bottle of wine to a tube of toothpaste. How kitsch! MARC by Marc Jacobs Cheshire Cat Wristlet

So what can $98 get you in the designer handbag world? How about a Cheshire cat! OK, it's not an actual living, breathing cat, but who wants one of those pesky pets anyhow. Marc Jacobs has decided he's not entirely done with inserting rather kitschy accessories into his MARC by Marc Jacobs line, and proves it with the Cheshire Cat Wristlet. It's cute in a creepy sort of way, like his "Miss Marc" bags are. I suppose it's an appropriate gift for, let's say, a 12-yr old, but a full grown woman? (Yes, the question is rhetorical). I'd recommend looking into similar coin purses from other labels that are executed in a much more refined manner than this line of wristlets. There's an actual collection of these, and the "mouse" and "owl" (equally creepy) are also available. BTW, this is what a Cheshire cat should look like - nice, wide grin. Marc's version is, well, just a cat.

BCBG Max Azria Femme Fatale Leather Hobo

Don't you just love it when your designer bag comes with an attached lipstick case? Not me. The addition of such a gimmicky accent on the BCBG Max Azria Femme Fatale Leather Hobo seems unnecessary considering this is an enormous bag and not a clutch where such a item might come in more handy. This cavernous black leather hobo (it's actually a "tobo" - part tote, part hobo) has a nice shape and comfortable shoulder drop, but it's size will only work on larger frames. At 18 x 16 x 6.5, it would be out of the question for a petite woman. I suppose only big and tall gals will sport the "Femme Fatale' without looking ridiculous. Sorry my petite readers, this one is just for us tall ladies.

I absolutely love this fierce clutch from Tory Burch. Not exactly what I was expecting from the TB design team, but if this clutch is any indication of where their focus is shifting to, I'm beyond on board with it.
